The festival
Now in its 26th year, the annual Falls Music and Arts Festival will be held over New Year’s and early January in towns across Australia. Launched in 1993 and originally named ‘Rock Above The Falls’ in just Lorne, Victoria, the festival has evolved to being held across four regional towns in four states, and attracting big name artists.

Falls Festival Lorne
Dates: 28 – 31 December 2018

How to get there: Melbourne is the closest city to Lorne with an airport. Melbourne Tullamarine is the largest and most-frequented airport, however the smaller Melbourne Avalon airport is actually closer to Lorne and The Great Ocean Road if you’re flying to get to the festival.
Falls Festival Marion Bay
Dates: 29 – 31 December 2018

How to get there: If you’re flying into Tasmania for the Marion Bay Falls Festival, Hobart Airport is the closest and most convenient airport, just under 40 kilometres from Marion Bay. Travelling with a group? Airport transfers to and from Hobart Airport are available on Jayride.com.
Falls Festival Byron Bay
Dates: 31 December – 2 January 2019

How to get there: The closest airport is Ballina-Byron Gateway Airport. From there, it’s about 38 kilometres from Byron Bay. Shared shuttles into Byron Bay from the airport start from just AUD$20.
Falls Festival Fremantle
Dates: 5 – 6 January 2019

How to get there: Fremantle lies just 30 kilometres from Western Australia’s state capital of Perth, and can be accessed via airport transfer from Perth Airport. A private transfer starts from just AUD$78.
Tickets
There are still tickets available for the Byron Bay, Lorne, Fremantle and Marion Bay festivals. You can opt to buy a single day, weekend, two day, three day or camping pass, depending on the location. For ticket options, check out the website.

Important information
To ensure everyone has a great time, the festival has a few rules they enforce to keep festival goers safe and happy. These include:
- No BYO alcohol
- No fires
- No glassware onsite
- No recording of artist performances
- No couches (people bring them and leave at the festival, creating unnecessary landfill)
- No animals and pets
- Put rubbish in appropriate bins
- And of course, no illegal activities, including use of drugs and drink-driving
